Board Elects New Treasurer
The Old Paint Lick Cemetery Board has elected Steve McKnight as the new treasurer. Julie Hatfield has retired from the position after serving faithfully for over 30 years. Steve joined the board in 2002. He retired from IBM after working for 30 years as a software engineer. He is the son of Paul and Sue Nave McKnight, and grandson of Earl and Gladys Wells Nave on the maternal side and Raymond and Celestia Hall McKnight on the paternal side. Steve has taken an interest in the history of Paint Lick and the Old Paint Lick Cemetery specifically. He gave a tour of the cemetery in 2008 for Garrard County Rural Heritage Festival. Most of the topics covered are on the "History" tab of this website. Steve graduated with a B.S. degree in Computer Science at the University of Kentucky. He and his wife, Carolyn, moved to Paint Lick in January 2001 after working in Raleigh, North Carolina for 15 years.
